Learning Every Time

Finally got back to work on a couple pairs of the DIY tongs that I have been making. I completed two pairs so far and began on another. That's all been going well but one thing I learned about is the problem of freezing propane tanks.

I won't go into all the science details but basically magic happens and the propane bottle begins to freeze up if you run the fuel hard enough long enough. The more you run, the hotter it gets, but the faster it freezes. Once it get cold enough it acts like the tank is out of fuel. So, I got to researching how to slow it down. The best method for when it's warm out is to set the tank in a tub of water. This allows the tank to pull heat from the water and keeps it from freezing. I tried it out and it worked great. My only issue is that once the weather begins to go sub-freezing, I won't be able to do that trick with having to haul the water from the house each time. I guess I will cross that bridge when it comes. Until then, here is a picture of the tongs I have made so far.
